Minutes of the eighth meeting of ACAT: the Acton Climate Action Team

Selectmen meeting

• Planning meeting between Jim & selectmen Bob Johnson  went well.
• One basic choice: have to decide whether to be an official Town Committee or our current Gonzo committee.
• Bob will consult with Dean Charter and/or Don Johnson on how they would like to proceed.

Next Meeting

• October 4th is our next meeting. This fits with our "First-Monday" decision on meetings.

Meeting with schools - prep

• Outline:
• Introduction of ACAT
• Were here to help, not space aliens.
• Lexington examples. Want to save the school money and help
• Concrete examples. Lexington example the replaced the lighting fixtures. Took out a loan, and the payback in the next year paid out the loan
• Energy savings performance contracting.
• Environmentally preferable products. Includes recycled products.
• Retrofit buses, more efficient catalytic converter for diesel. Improves air quality dramatically.
