Notes from planning meeting for Dean Charter visit

Attending:

  • Tom, Jim, Adam (by phone)

NSTAR - Prescriptive vs. Custom Rebates

Keyspan has also called Dean Charter.

Help evaluate the proposal, turn it into a performance contract / shared savings / lease. How can we structure it to be in an operating budget?

Technical audit, T-5’s or Super T-8; likely

NSTAR. Recommissionig on A/C systems.

CNG fleet. High pressure fueling station. Talk to Town again on high pressure gas. Michael Bradley.

Street Lights. Does the Town own the street lights now? Need to find out. Town energy bills. Action Item: Tom, will research NSTAR rebates.

Town property. Fire Stations. New construction. Library. Town Hall. Pumping Stations are part of Water District.

How A/C system can have problems.

Building envelope not up to snuff, ducts through unheated space, low charge, high charge, bad air flow. System oversized, inefficient. Harris should test ducts, the charge / how much refrigerant.

Capital expenditures will be a big deal. How can we get the improvements into the operating budget, and be a winner. What are Dean’s pain and pleasure points. What motivates him? Bring up ACAT at Selectmen’s meeting "Citizen’s Concern’s."

A simple EPA energy audit would be a good

Adam and I spoke with Michael Bradley and Peter Ashton.

Michael will forward a video on school bus retrofitting. Mostly decreases particulates but the fuel could be a vegetable based diesel blend.

Peter said he was very interested. Once we get our thoughts together, we should call him up and meet him for a cup of coffee.
